DFW Wine Events: August 2026

August is the center of harvest season in Texas, with grape stomps and festivals sweeping through the vineyards. But there are plenty of wine activities for city dwellers, too! Here’s our curated event roundup for August 2026.

A note about Eataly Dallas: I’m not usually a complainer but…the last two times I’ve tried to drink wine at Eataly, I’ve received appallingly rude and indifferent service. Some wine-loving friends have, too. It’s bad enough that I can’t currently recommend that you go there. So, Eataly is grounded from my event listings for at least a couple of months–or until I hear that they’ve improved things.

Wine & Cheese Lovers Class at Rockler Woodworking (Garland)

Wouldn’t you like some awesome wood crafts to show off at your next party? The folks at Rockler Woodworking and Hardware in Garland are offering a make-and-take especially for wine and cheese lovers. First, you’ll learn to use a wood lathe to create a wine bottle stopper and a cheese knife handle. Then, you’ll receive expert assistance crafting a live-edge wooden cheese board.

Rockler Woodworking classes are for ages 14+. Under 18 must be accompanied by a supervising adult (adult does not need a ticket). $108.25/person. Tickets via Eventbrite.

Pop-Up Pizzeria + Vino: An Authentic Italian Pizza & Wine Night (Wylie)

Friday, August 7 at 5 PM – 9 PM

It’s back! Dig into authentic Neapolitan-style pizza and Italian desserts accompanied by specially selected Italian wines. This pop-up pizzeria collaboration by Above Wines, Love Life and Pizza, and Wylie Urban Farm & Market has plenty of indoor seating and food options for everyone. Enjoy live Italian music classics while you dine.

Free entry and free parking. Under 21 admitted with parent/guardian. Reservations are not required, but will help the event hosts prepare.

Summer in Oregon Wine Tasting Class (Southlake)

Bars, Bark and Bites: A Chocolate and Wine Experience (Dallas)

Thursday, August 6 at 6:30 PM – 9 PM

Learn to work with chocolate while enjoying chef-crafted small bites and wine pairings. In this hands-on evening workshop, you will create two delicious desserts to take home: a custom chocolate bar and chocolate bark with your choice of toppings and mix-ins.

TEXSOM Conference 2026 (Irving)

Sunday, August 23 at 2 PM – Tuesday, August 25 at 8 PM

Wine professionals from Texas and beyond converge on the Irving Convention Center for this three-day conference. The TEXSOM Conference is one of the world’s premier educational and networking opportunities for sommeliers and wine educators.

Attendees can meet producers, taste uncommon wines from around the world, and attend classes hosted by experts including Master Sommeliers and Masters of Wine. The conference is open to wine enthusiasts as well as members of the trade.
