The most popular posts on The Wine Fairy last year were (by far) our coverage of the 2025 Costco Wine Advent-ure Calendar. We unboxed the crate of half-bottles and diligently tasted and reviewed every single wine.
A few readers have reached out to ask if Costco is planning a similar release for 2026. The answer appears to be: Yes, indeed!
Flying Blue Imports is the company that sources and assembles the wines for Costco’s annual box of holiday joy. Last week, the importer posted a YouTube video of the boxes being hand-packed by a warehouse team. The box features a holiday-village theme with the slogans “Take a Wine Adventure” on the side of the crate and “‘Tis the Season to Be Pouring” under the lid.
What will we be uncorking this December? The Costco calendar always includes 24 half-bottles (375 ml) of different wines from around the world. That’s about two generous glasses of each wine, perfect for sharing with a partner.
We won’t spoil the whole list. However, if you zoom in really, really close around the 8-second mark, you can see a wrapped skid containing rolls of labels that disclose the contents. The 2026 wine list looks to be very similar to 2025’s…with some exciting new additions.
The fan-favorite Sheep Station Sauvignon Blanc is returning, and so is the Ciel Bleu Sparkling Brut from France. The 2026 kit will also feature new international wine discoveries–like a Blaufränkisch from Hungary, and what I believe is the advent calendar’s first Macedonian wine.
In another frame, you can spy a worker handling what looks like the return of the Who’s Who red (a name previously used for a South African Pinotage in 2024) and the always very tasty Maison du Lac white Bordeaux.
At the end of the short video, a robotic arm loads the completed kits onto pallets. They roll down a conveyer belt and out the door…hopefully headed to a warehouse club near you.
We’re not privy to any special insider information from Costco, so we can’t comment with certainty on pricing, regional availability, or the 2026 release date. (Although–hey, Costco! If you want to provide us one for review purposes, you can get in touch here. 😉)
What we do know is that we picked up last year’s calendar in Plano, Texas at the end of August. Generally, it arrives in stores around Labor Day weekend–or just before–and is priced at $99.99. (It may be listed at up to $119.99 in California and through online grocery services.)
