Alluvia Launch Party at Winestein’s (Grapevine)

Friday Night Flights at 4R Ranch Vineyards and Winery Tasting Room (McKinney)
Friday, August 1, 8, 15, and 22 at 5 PM – 8 PM
4R Ranch’s Downtown McKinney location hosts a wine tasting event for just $20. Three wines are paired with three small plates. August’s four flights are (in order): Dry Whites, Reserve Reds, Sweet Flights, and Spanish Whites. Reservations are encouraged.

Ferragosto Italian Wine and Food Tasting (Irving)

Ferragosto is a public holiday celebrated across all of Italy on August 15. It was originally a harvest festival established by the Emperor Augustus in 18 BCE.

At this whirlwind celebration, you’ll tour Italy’s varied food, wine, and culture in one afternoon. Your ticket includes 20 wine tastes spanning every Italian region and a selection of small bites, all guided by Lamberti’s expert staff.
Three time slots are available: 12 PM, 1:30 PM, or 3 PM. Advance tickets via Eventbrite are $42.42. Child tickets (ages 2+) are $13.54 and include small bites and face painting.

11th Annual Sangria Soirée [Dallas)
Saturday, August 16 at 4 PM – 7 PM
Every third Saturday of the month, enjoy a self-guided wine walk with a seasonal theme. August’s guest-star beverage is Sangria–with plenty of supporting players like Chardonnay, Cabernet, rosé, and cider. Hosted by Discover Deep Ellum.

How does it work? Check in between 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM at the Plaza on Main and pick up your artist-designed wine glass and area map. Then, head to any of 15-20 local stores and restaurants for live entertainment and complimentary wine tastings.

Wine professionals from Texas and beyond converge on Irving Convention Center for this three-day conference. Now celebrating its 20th year, TEXSOM is one of the world’s premier educational and networking opportunities for sommeliers and wine educators.
Full conference passes are $525 and include seminars, daily lunch, six expo tastings, author meet-and-greets, Grand Tasting and Awards Reception entrance. (You may see the Wine Fairy there polishing glasses–I was accepted into the “Sommer Camp” volunteer program!)
