There’s so much to eat, drink, and do in North Texas during the summer! Your local wine guide is checking in once again with a fresh batch of vinous fun.
Every month at The Wine Fairy, we assemble a list of local happenings you may enjoy. We comb through the apps for wine events that suit a variety of tastes and budgets. Think wine walks, paired dinners, tastings, and classes. (Basically any event where wine is being poured and that doesn’t sound like an ambush for a multi-level marketing pitch.)

Events are listed in chronological order. Each listing includes a link where you can buy tickets or contact the organizer for more information. (We’ve done our best to get everything correct here—however, we recommend that you confirm all details with the host.) Note that Eventbrite ticket prices now include all mandatory taxes and fees.
Red, White and Blue Ostrich at Blue Ostrich Winery (Saint Jo)
Saturday, July 4 at 12 PM – 5 PM
Looking for somewhere to celebrate on the 4th? Blue Ostrich Winery will be open on Friday with live music, wines by the glass and bottle, and views for miles. Toast America’s birthday with a glass of 100% Texas-grown wine. (And ostriches!)

Located just a few miles from the Texas-Oklahoma border, Blue Ostrich isn’t technically in DFW. It’s about an hour from the edge of the Metroplex, but the change of scene is worth the drive. (You’d spend that long waiting in traffic after Kaboom Town, anyway.)

(Bringing your own light snacks is allowed–please no outside alcohol or large meals.)
